Have you ever been so enamored with a skincare discovery that you want to walk around your neighborhood with a vat of whatever it happens to be and wear a sign around your neck that says, “Try this and thank me later!” Just me? I’m in the midst of a love affair with a particular serum right now (more on that below) and I’ve been telling so many people about it that I felt compelled to share in Man Repeller editorial meeting, which resulted in multiple other team members waxing poetic about their latest beauty fixation. And, well, that’s the story of how this sausage got made. Keep scrolling to read about Team MR’s most recent beauty obsessions.
Harling, Fashion Editor (Me)
Skin type: Dehydrated and sensitive
Last beauty product I fell in love with: Consonant Skincare HydrExtreme
What’s so great about it? It’s SUPER hydrating, but non-greasy, so it absorbs instantly. Sometimes I forget that I used it the night before and wake up and wonder why my skin looks so much healthier than it usually does and then I’m like, ohhhh.
How/when do you typically use it? I use it at night after washing my face. Sometimes I layer a thicker cream/lotion on top of it if my skin is feeling extra dry, but it depends on the weather. A little goes a long way (each bottle contains 600 drops), which is something I consider when calculating how much bang I’m getting for my buck. The serum costs $50 — more than I typically like to spend on a skincare product, but given how long it lasts I have an easier time justifying the expense.

Skin type: On the oilier side with a shiny T-zone
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Lancer Caviar Lime Acid Peel
What’s so great about it? My skin looked much fresher, brighter and clearer afterwards but especially the next morning. My skin tone is also very susceptible to pigmentation from blemishes and this really helped to reduce some marks I have around my jawline from a recent breakout.
How/when do you typically use it? I’ll only use it on one-offs when I feel like I need a boost (perhaps after a flight) but think it could be too harsh to use more regularly. My main tip would be make sure you’re always using SPF afterwards!

Skin type: Dry with areas prone to breakouts
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Clark’s Botanicals Skin Clearing Face and Body Wash
What’s so great about it? It’s really gentle on my face and helps me maintain clear skin between breakouts. It’s my go-to when my skin isn’t in emergency mode but I want to ensure that it feels light and clean. I use it on my face but have also used it on my arms, chest and back in the summer when I am more prone to sweat.
How/when do you typically use it? Just like a face wash on your face and a body wash on your body. You don’t need that much!
Crystal, Operations Manager
Skin type: Incredibly dry
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Drunk Elephant Marula Oil
What’s so great about it? It’s an oil that ANYONE can use. I love that it doesn’t SIT on your skin but actually absorbs and you can see/feel it working! Seriously, I could go on about it for days. I’ve tried the much cheaper dupe versions but had to come back to Drunk Elephant, because my skin was seriously pissed off at me for straying.
How/when do you typically use it? I use it three times a day (which I don’t recommend for anyone who doesn’t have super dry skin like me!). I put it on when I get out of the shower in the morning, I give me self a midday “pick-me-up” around 2-3 p.m. when my skin is feeling dry and then I slather (seriously slather) it on before I go to bed at night. Also, don’t rub it it, but it in your palms, warm it up a bit, then press it into your face and neck.
Louisiana, Visuals Assistant
Skin type: Combination/normal. Oily on the T-zone sometimes, but nothing too crazy. Normal/dry (depending on the season!) on the other parts of my face.
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer
What’s so great about it? It adds a nice healthy glow to my face without being overly shimmery and is actually pretty moisturizing. I like how 100% of the ingredients are from natural origin as well.
How/when do you typically use it? I use it in the morning — after applying a serum and before sunscreen. I also like to put a little more on places where I would put highlighter.

Skin type: Low-maintenance plus dark circle eye baggage
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Moroccan henna lipstick
What’s so great about it? First of all, it’s TWO DOLLARS. Plus, it gives a natural looking stain to the lips, doesn’t dry them out and just survived the consumption of a massive brie sandwich by yours truly.
How/when do you typically use it? It just entered my life 18 hours ago (my boyfriend’s mom brought it back from a trip to Morocco) but I already know it’s going to be a staple in my morning routine.

Skin type: Sensitive and oily
Last beauty product you fell in love with: Vital-C Antioxidant serum from Circumference
What’s so great about it? I like the way it smells, and I like the way it makes my skin look and feel. It also simplifies my morning skincare routine.
How/when do you typically use it? I use it in the morning under sunscreen. It has hyaluronic acid in it so I feel good to go, hydration-wise. It makes my skin feel glowy and soft.

Skin type: A combo of oily and dry, sensitive and fickle
Last beauty product you fell in love with? Juice Beauty CC Cream
What’s so great about it? It has SPF, provides a bit of coverage, makes my skin feel so nice and also SMELLS great. Plus, it’s organic.
How/when do you typically use it? It’s my morning moisturizer/SPF! A little goes a long way.

Skin type: Normal (not sure what that means exactly, but it seems to be the best description for this here face)
Last beauty product you fell in love with? Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil
What’s so great about it? Well for starters, it smells AMAZING! It has blue tansy in it, and whenever I drip it on my face I feel like I’m transported to some 5-star desert spa that I’ve never been to. Also, it makes my skin super smooth, reducing redness and calming down any issues I have. I like to think of this as one of my “healing” products, meaning I use it when I haven’t been taking care of my skin, or after I’m recovering from a breakout.
How/when do you typically use it? I always use it at night since it has retinol complex (and the next morning I am extra diligent about remembering to apply sunscreen). I use it as the serum in my series of products. This goes on after toner/essence and before eye cream and moisturizer. It’s really a no-brainer to use — just drip drop and pat in. The only thing is, you can’t use it in conjunction with any acid products like AHAs or BHAs because they’ll cancel each other out and you’ll waste both products. So for reference, choose either Luna Night Oil or Good Genes for your evening routine – not both.

Last beauty product you fell in love with? Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil
What’s so great about it? Clarins lip oil truly checks every box: It smells, feels, and looks amazing! It appears like a typical gloss upon application, but it’s even better because it also moisturizes my lips.
How/when do you typically use it? I use it all the time, whether I’m applying it to complete a going-out look or if I’m chilling at home and I want to experience some sweet tangerine-scented goodness.
