MyTheresa has no sale shoes in my size. Boo. But look at this red vinyl trench coat on ASOS for $135 that a cooler me could wear in the rain. While I’m on ASOS, I can’t tell if this embellished smock tock is pretty or not. I kinda like it for a “going out” (to dinner) top. Tucked into high-waist jeans? A navy headboard, although I can’t tell which ones I love and which ones I hate yet. (Styling interiors is another brain. It’s nowhere near as automatic in terms of what I like versus what’s actually nice versus what’s checking a box)
I do know that I’d like to wear these astronomy pajamas while at home, especially since pajamas may be the key to a better bed routine. But back to clothes, I keep realizing that what’s missing from my closet — one major gap of a thing that I keep reaching for but realize I don’t own, are red ballet flats. Should I get Everlane ones or splurge on red Chanel-os?

Next question: what are your thoughts on kimonos? I’m trying so hard to make winter caftans happen but the powers that be are not aiding the cause (is it so much to ask for a rigid wool or velvet tent?) so a kimono feels like potentially a nice solve, but I haven’t found any that I love yet (except the Etro ones which are SO $$$!) I’m left feverishly accessorizing with this basket, these sunglasses (on sale on The Outnetttttttt) and this necklace.
Final thought: sexy sandals are very much back.

I can’t believe that basket bag is $25. I’m also so glad we are deciding to keep basket bags around. More than anything, I am touched that you found me THE PERFECT ballet flats. My thoughts on robe sweaters as your winter kaftan (since the one you describe is like something André Leon Talley would wear, which might be worth investigating seeing as he’s really got it all figured out) is that I like them, personally, but the underneath bit always feels hard to master. Do you wear a tee? Is it a graphic one? If you do a sweater under a sweater, don’t you get hot?
In browsing online for some ideas, I came up with none, but! I found these random trinkets I want, and since I have to go, perhaps forever and ever, once I sign off, I leave you with this:
– These blue acrylic hoops from Cult Gaia that are $90 total.
– This hot chili pepper earring, mostly because it makes me think of Man Repeller
– I can’t afford this because $695 for a pill case is insane, but look how chic
– These sequin flares that I’ll probably save for a holiday party
– And more than anything, I want this green faux fur jacket from Burberry but it’s too expensive. This green leopard one from Shrimps is less but not as polished.
Maybe it’s too soon for coats and things. Which means it’s not weird if I get this new cut of swim suit from Solid & Striped, right? I am very much in love. I could always wear it with a trench coat + rain boots!
