Evening Apropos: “Going Out” This Weekend?

mr-apropos-series

I KNOW WHAT I SAID.

That I wasn’t going to go out ever again because of my social menopause. Fun is tiring. Why does no one have fun sitting down anymore? What would Fran Lebowitz say about having fun?

But the truth is, even though my pace is slowing down and my desire to “party” is gone, I still go out. As you may or may not know, when you go out, you must wear clothes — no shoes, no shirt, no service, zzz — and so, here you go: a two-night, non-office “going out” edition of Office Apropos, minus the office, because it is so hard to get dressed on Friday and Saturday evening.

Friday

Also out of my routine is this much color all at once, but when I seriously can't get dressed (which is magnified by a billion after work on a Friday, especiallyyy if I had to style a shoot or do anything useful) I tend to get more adventurous with my outfits. I think it's because I'm like, "Fuck it, let's get weird and go for it."

I have a really hard time going out on Fridays because I’m dead from the week and sometimes a tiny bit hungover from Thursday if I had drinks with a friend or a date or something. (I’m at that stage where I get hangovers after two glasses of alcohol; it’s very fun.) So, going out on a Friday was a little bit out of my routine as of late, sure, BUT, I had a friend’s birthday party, and who am I to deny someone the annual commemoration of her womb escape?

Saturday

Saturday night: I have a weird story to tell you about my going-out-top-with-jeans outfit. I had to do two things on Thursday night with two different demographics. The top was for one group (disco fiends, apparently) and it was meant to go with a different pair of pants. I was going to change. The jeans were part of my after-work-drinks day-to-night transitional outfit. I spilled red wine alllll over these jeans at my AWD (after-work-drinks), which made me tired, so I skipped the disco event and I went home... ...By the time I got home the jeans were not only dry, I swear on my life: no red stain. It was very weird. So to celebrate I wore them Saturday with this sequin top, and what I really mean here is: these two things were mostly clean and on top of the chair where I put the clothes that I don't feel like hanging back up.   Wearing: Anine Bing top and jeans, Maje jacket and Tory Burch shoes

What are you wearing this weekend? What are you doing? Are you staying in to watch Westworld instead? Do you want more “going out” outfit stuff?
