I know! It’s only November!
That’s the point.
While I understand that putting up holiday decorations before Thanksgiving might merit an eye roll, brainstorming holiday outfits on said timeline is not only reasonable but also extremely savvy.
I know the twinkle and clink of party season seems pretty far away right now, but come December 1st it will hit you like a runaway sleigh, and why cause traffic when you can zoom ahead with a little advance planning??
It will probably un-surprise you to hear that I’m leaning hard into metallics for this particular outfit rodeo. Add velvet to the mix and you’ve got the ideal festive fabric recipe, hence this striped pajama-esque suit situation from Zara. In the party landscape of my dreams I would pair it with cranberry satin loafers, because in all my best dreams I’m wearing The Row. A little more metallic by way of this Topshop trench I’ve been eyeing for months and you’ve got yourself an ensemble worth making hot toddy-laden small talk in.
I’ve had this Lisa Says Gah wrap top bookmarked since it went up on their Instagram a few weeks ago. I like it a whole lot. I like it even better married to a partially see-through midi skirt and Bunny MacDougal-approved cardigan. Knee-high boots and sparkly earrings are optional but heavily encouraged.
The third outfit up for consideration came about purely as a result of this gold lamé dress taunting me with its 40%-off discount. Then, one thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was fantasizing about wearing it with fishnet tights and tartan shoes. Oooh, and a chunky fisherman sweater!
What about you? Are you in party outfit planning mode yet, or am I just thirsty for hot toddies?
