In partnership with HUE
I bet legs were kinda mad during peak selfie days. When phones got flip-around cameras and society deemed it acceptable to post self poretraits (and I do mean pore-traits) featuring zoom-shots of our faces, right before innocent duck beaks got a bad rap because we couldn’t stop saying “prune” and pursing, everything below the clavicle bone was forgotten. Faces are great. I like yours, especially. But I am glad we are posting pictures with our limbs again. In fact, I’m so glad about it that we partnered with HUE to showcase five important leg poses of Instagram, each one styled in a pair of leggings or tights.
1. The Floor Fanatic

If you have this thing with floors, it’s important to be prepared from the legs down all times. The design world’s favorite tile-centric shot is made all the more dynamic by decor-complementing legwear and footwear. It’s a lot to ask of your daily outfits, I know, because how are you supposed to foresee what floors you may come across? Allow me to let you in on a trick that seasoned ceramic fanatics may not even know: If you carry a few different colored pairs of tights in your bag at all times, you can take your shoes off and slip on coordinating tights. Take it an editorial step further and make like Balenciaga’s SS17 runway by running your tights right over pointed pumps, like we did with these HUE ones. Anything for the shot, right?

2. No Regrets!

There is nothing more irresistible to the human heart than a Pinterest-style “No Regrets!” jumping photo with high altitude and a can-do attitude. It’s the feel-good flick of the season and you’re the star. Because this one can get a bit too saccharine (and we need your upper body plus mind in a fully-committed position) give your legs some textured edge with fishnet stockings. They might even make you more aerodynamic or something.

3. The Leg Up

Made famous by fashion savvy social media pro Eva Chen, The Leg Up promotes finding moments of relaxation where you can. And why not give your legs, shoes, bag or snack a well-deserved moment in the sun? Add green tights to accessorize your accessories. (HUE’s are a subtle hunter green color — way more wearable than one might think in person.) Don’t forget to buckle up if you’re in a moving vehicle but remember: you don’t have to be. This pose works anywhere you can stretch your legs and be the Instagram star of which you’ve always dreamed.

4. The Traffic Stopper

All good Instagram posers know nothing shows off a leg extension quite like dramatic street-crossing in super bright colors. Done safely at a red light (with a head swivel to check both ways just in case), the effect is such that she who walks appears to be stopping traffic by mere virtue of her outfit. In this case, the bolder, the more colorful, the more believable. The more flow-y the clothes, the more dynamic the photo. A long coat works great. A skirt or billowy pants could, too. Raspberry tights are one of those why not additions, although I’d go so far as to say that when it comes to matching your trench and striped pantaloons, they might be mandatory.

5. The Decorated Tree Frog

Whether you’re a true yogi or not hardly matters when it comes to this fashion take on the classic tree pose. In one fell swoop, the Decorated Tree Frog allows you to show off leggings, jewelry, clothes and shoe with a fun angle that can, if you’re still a bit plandid-shy, eliminate the “I’m taking this outfit of the day thing really seriously” fear. Once you loosen up a bit, explore your range. Move your arms around. Throw your leg up in the air! Leggings really help here. The embellishments on these HUE leggings make the whole look something to celebrate.

Speaking of celebrating, do you feel like high-fiving with our nylon feet in the name of legs or what? Tights on — let’s dance!
