Ah, the magna carta holy Chatroom.
Inès de la Fressange: an enduringly French woman who, presumably without trying at all, landed herself on a perennially best dressed list simply by virtue of, to quote the mantra of 2014 in 2015, “her doing her.”
The previous muse to Karl Lagerfeld who walked a Chanel show in 2011 at the tender age of 54, Fressange currently designs a collection for Uniqlo and is the ambassador to Roger Vivier (here’s a fun fact about that: upon moving into her atelier on Rue Faubourg de Saint-Honoré in Paris, there was a short spiral stairwell on the way to her office that led to a white concrete wall. She covered the adjacent wall with photos of celebrities in Vivier to signify that “vanity leads to nowhere” — if that’s not the kind of prolific fodder that heats up the loins of your philosophically-charged pencils, pray tell what is).
In this episode of The Chatroom, she shares three things every woman should have sprinkled over intelligent whims of advice on the tenets of not taking yourself too seriously, kindly disregards the protruding bags under my eyes, teaches me how to draw (possibly making way for a new profession?) and perhaps most importantly, offers the most important dressing tip we’ve culled this year without even actually saying anything. Should I let you guess what it is? Here’s a blaring hint: pay attention to her blazer.
Elle a tellement raison.
