Welcome to Monocycle, episode 11.
It seemed vaguely sociopathic not to acknowledge my dramatic cracking voice and crying from last week’s episode, so this week’s starts reflectively until the dance floor is opened up to express this new thing I’m trying: faking it (happiness) until you make it. People talk about the notion of “fake it ’til you make it” all the time, but I wonder how many people religiously practice it. In an attempt to do just that, I end up doing what I said I wouldn’t do (pretend I’m Gandhi) and expound upon the benefits of manufactured happiness.
The most important takeaway for me thus far has been that you can trick yourself into thinking you’re happy and frankly speaking, that’s kind of enough. So do enjoy and then hit me up if you feel like talking about it.
