MR Writers Club Prompt: Tell Us a Great Love Story

Have you heard of the Man Repeller Writers Club? Every month we pose a story idea, you write about it and then send it to us ([email protected]) with the subject line “MR Writers Club.” We go through all submissions and post the winner on the first Saturday of every month. Ready? Let’s go.

When I hear the words “love story,” I imagine the opening montage in UpI imagine something that gets me crying, either because it breaks my heart or melts it, and I definitely imagine something romantic. But love is so much bigger than romance. I feel love for my mom, my cat, for the feeling of stretching my limbs in the morning. I feel love for women, commiseration and subway musicians. I even feel love for myself on the right day, especially when I feed myself a really good snack.

Love is an expansive and infinitely applicable emotion. Through that lens, and in honor of Love Month on Man Repeller, I want to you to tell me the greatest love story in the world. Then send your story in 500 words or less to write [at] manrepeller [dot] com by 12 p.m. EST on Tuesday, February 27th.

Whoever makes me cry the most wins, tears of laughter included.
