Look! Fashion Week Street Style is Getting Fun Again

Brown suede boots are so hot right now. Just four of them, actually, artfully placed on the paws of the coolest and perhaps only Pomeranian in attendance at New York Fashion Week. Not enough to call it a trend, but certainly enough to lift your spirits.

Said boots and more spirit-lifting where that came from are in the slideshow above, thanks to the outfit stalking of our pal and photographer Simon Chetrit. The styles of those found mingling outside the shows this year, like Yasmin Sewell and Hanneli Mustaparta, are hard to put in a box — you’re as likely to spot gritty downtown casual as you are dialed-up opulence (and certainly plenty in between) — but they do all seem to share one thing: a casual willingness to take up space. No one seems to be hiding and it’s as fun as it is refreshing.

Click through for lots of color, plenty of decades, and a hint of maximalism even in the simpler outfits. Maybe everyone’s ready to play again?
