Here’s a statement you can put on my gravestone: Fall is the fucking best.
Here’s another: I love a layer.
Another: Coziness over broziness.
Scratch that last one. But seriously, it’s Hollywood-style AUTUMN in New York right now and I’ve been walking around with a smile on my face like an actual loon.
Our noses are red (so cute), our toes are oscillating between snuggly AF and so cold they might break off (so exciting), our forgotten coats are now enjoying a game of musical chairs but instead of chairs it’s our heavily clothed bodies. We’re drinking hot coffee! Thinking about the holidays! Being annoying about how much we love fall!
And, even better, the streets of New York are full of the kind of style that makes you want to hug a stranger.
A funnel-neck sweater under a neon parka?! I’ll follow her anywhere.
Cable knit and plaid!
Chunky wool socks under chunky platform shoes.
Blazers and boots and headphones that are probably playing Greg Laswell or something.
A large red coat over a pink shirt. Yes.
Stripes on stripes under stripes.
So many patterned wool garments on one body, so little time.
A YELLOW LEATHER JACKET?
A rust-colored trench with a pale pink head scarf is enough to make you fall in love.
Hi to you, denim bucket hat paired with an oversize cotton button-down.
That ^ and so much more awaits you in the above street style slideshow snapped by a Krista in the sickeningly (in a good way) autumnal streets of New York this month.
And, for your October-loving heart, a Halloween playlist for any and all spooky weekend enjoyment.
